New booking flexibility and Air Canada CleanCare+
There is nothing like the feeling of looking forward to an upcoming trip. Discover all the updates we’ve made for safe and flexible travel.
Book with flexibility
We have implemented highly flexible and expanded booking options. You can make a one-time change without a fee for all new or existing bookings made through December 31, 2020 for original travel between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. If you booked with Air Canada and you need to cancel for any reason, you can convert your ticket to an Air Canada Travel Voucher that has no expiry date or to Aeroplan Miles with an additional 65% bonus miles.
Safety first, always
We’ve introduced Air Canada CleanCare+, an industry-leading program committed to end-to-end health and safety protocols. Using new biosafety standards and enhancing preventive measures, we are elevating the steps we're taking to keep you safe throughout your travel with us, because we believe in putting safety first, always.
Where we fly
We’re ready to take off further with over 90+ destinations.
At the airport
Touchless airport experience
Check-in - We know how important your safety is every step of the way, which is why we are implementing touch-free airport experiences.
TouchFree Bag Check - Now at most major Canadian airports, Air Canada check-in areas feature TouchFree Bag Check kiosks for domestic travel. You can automatically print your bag tags without contact.
Virtual Queues - We're introducing virtual queues for customer care needs. By scanning a QR code at the entrance of a queue, you will then receive a virtual ticket to your phone, followed by a notification when it is your turn to proceed to the counter.
Boarding - As a further safety measure, we have made several changes to our boarding process. By boarding less customers at the same time, as well as boarding the cabin from window to aisle, and from back to front, we will be streamlining onboard interactions during boarding. We ask that you remain seated at your gate until your zone is called. Upon boarding, you will proceed to scan your own boarding pass. In addition, boarding gates will close 30 minutes prior to departure to ensure a more secure boarding process. Priority and pre-boarding will remain available to eligible customers.
Maple Leaf Lounges
We are excited to welcome eligible customers back to our lounges, re-opened with new biosafety standards and a new elevated dining experience. Here's what to expect when visiting our lounges:

Biosafety measures upon entry
With your continued safety in mind throughout your travel journey, we are re-opening our lounges with new biosafety measures in place. Customers will be required to scan their own boarding pass, status card, or membership card to enter the lounge. The card swiper will be disinfected after each use. Face masks are mandatory for customers as well as our employees, who will be undergoing daily health checks. As a means of contact tracing, a record will be kept of all lounge visitors for 30 days.
Complimentary meals and beverages
In the lounge, meals can be ordered and delivered straight to your table through the new Maple Leaf Lounge @ la table service simply by scanning an NFC or QR code found at the table. The menu also includes an offering available from one of our renowned chefs from our culinary program.* In addition, customers can select from two cold meal options, pre-packaged and sealed in our convenient meal snack bag. During select times, hot options and a kid's menu are also available. Meal options are adjusted based on time of day, and an antiseptic wipe and disposable cutlery roll will be provided with each meal. There will also be assisted bar service with our full bar offering.
*Meal offerings vary based on location
Entertainment and business services
For your enjoyment, all reading materials (over 7,000 magazines and newspapers) will be available digitally via PressReader on your smartphone or tablet. Limited iPads will also be made available and are sanitized between each use. Our business services will be limited to complimentary Wi-Fi and remote printing.
Each table and chair will be sanitized after every use, all high-touch areas are disinfected regularly throughout the day. Our lounge is divided into separate sections to facilitate these additional cleaning procedures, including electrostatic spraying, which requires a particular section to be closed for about 5-10 minutes. A dedicated washroom attendant will be on duty, responsible for disinfecting and sanitizing facilities after use. Showers will remain closed until further notice. Please note that other partner lounges may also be closed. We invite you to check directly with the operating carrier. Note that we are also temporarily suspending the selling of new Maple Leaf Club memberships. Memberships purchased before April 6, 2020 will automatically be extended by six months.
Some connection services, such as terminal shuttles, may be temporarily suspended. Please refer to airport signs in order to make your connection in a timely manner.
